President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated veteran journalist, media entrepreneur and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Durosinmi Meseko, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a patriotic leader whose contributions to journalism, governance and grassroots mobilisation have continued to strengthen the nation and the ruling party.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu rejoiced with the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary and Chairman of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) on attaining the milestone age.

The President praised Meseko’s remarkable achievements in media and communications, community development and governance, noting that his experience and dedication have continued to shape strategic political communication and deepen engagement between leaders, party members and citizens.

President Tinubu also recalled the former lawmaker’s contributions during his tenure in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007, where he consistently advocated policies and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

According to the President, Meseko has over the years distinguished himself as a journalist, entrepreneur, legislator and committed party stalwart who has remained steadfast in advancing progressive ideals and promoting national development.

Tinubu particularly commended the APC spokesman’s grassroots mobilisation efforts, describing him as a leader who understands the needs of ordinary people and works tirelessly to connect them with the opportunities and programmes of government.

The President further acknowledged Meseko’s traditional title as the Asiwaju of Imososi Kingdom, noting that his influence and leadership continue to inspire loyalty and unity within the party and beyond.

“As the former parliamentarian marks his 60th birthday, I pray for God’s blessing for him and his family,” the President stated.

Meseko, a respected figure in Nigeria’s media and political landscape, has played prominent roles in public communication, party administration and legislative advocacy over the years.
