ABUJA, Nigeria — Valentine Ozigbo, the Special Adviser to Peter Obi on Technology and Strategic Alliances, and a notable figure in Nigerian politics, has dispelled rumours linking him to an alleged appointment in President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Ozigbo, who was the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in the November 2021 Anambra State elections and a vital member of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 election, took to Twitter on Saturday, July 1, 2023 evening to set the record straight.
“I haven’t had any conversation with anybody about taking up any appointment with Tinubu’s government. Please disregard the rumours. I am still 100% Obidient,” Ozigbo stated in his tweet, emphasising his unwavering loyalty to Peter Obi.

This comes on the heels of intense speculation about Ozigbo’s political affiliations. He has been a staunch supporter of Peter Obi, a political heavyweight in Nigeria.
Rewinding back to January 24, 2023, Ozigbo made headlines when he brazenly advised President Bola Tinubu, who was then the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, to endorse Peter Obi or face defeat in the presidential election held on February 25th.
In the same statement, Ozigbo also denied attending any “Abuja meeting” with Atiku’s camp.
Ozigbo’s clarification tweet seeks to reassure his political allies and the public that his commitment remains firmly rooted in supporting Peter Obi and his objectives.
Political analysts note that Ozigbo’s prominent role in Anambra State politics and his position as Special Adviser to Peter Obi makes any shift in his allegiance noteworthy, but he remains committed to the cause he has long championed.
As Nigeria’s political landscape evolves, key players like Ozigbo are closely watched for their next moves.
For now, Ozigbo wants the public to know that he remains, in his own words, “100% Obidient”.
