The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded a major breakthrough in Benue state politics, with the Konshisha Local Government Area (LGA), announcing the registration of over 25,000 members into the party.
The development signals a growing wave of support for the ADC ahead of the 2027 election, where leading aspirant, are set to contest under the platform.
Speaking at the grand unveiling of the Konshisha ADC chapter in Tse Agberagba, Monday, Konshisha ADC committee Chairman, Hon. Julius Aondohemba Tarna, announced the milestone, saying 25,000 new members have registered into the party.
He noted that the people had wholeheartedly embraced the party and were prepared to work for its success in future elections.
Leaders of the party who spoke at the event expressed deep appreciation to the people for their overwhelming turnout and commitment to the party.
Governorship aspirants of the party Engr. Andrew Aba described the enthusiasm as a clear indication that the ADC was steadily gaining ground across Benue state.
Aba pledged to deliver an all-inclusive government that would prioritise rapid development and equitable opportunities if elected governor in 2027.
Delivering a keynote address, Rt. Hon. Herman Iorwase Hembe, a member of the National Steering Committee and former governorship aspirant, thanked the people of Jechira for their long-standing support during his four terms in the House of Representatives.
Hembe reiterated that the ADC remains a home for true democrats committed to restoring Nigeria’s fortunes, urging the people to rally behind the party.
Representing Rt. Hon. Terngu Tsegba, the Secretary of the ADC Benue state committee, Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu, assured supporters that the ADC provides a credible platform where members can freely elect leaders without undue interference.
He emphasised that the party stands for fairness and equal opportunities for all.
Former PDP chairman, Hon. Sir John Ngede, and former House of Representatives member for Kwande/Ushongo, Hon. Bob Tyough, also addressed the gathering, assuring that the ADC would deliver positive change if the people remained steadfast.
The event drew several notable figures, including former Attorney General of the state, Dr. Alex Adum; former PDP state chairman, Hon. Chris Abah; ADC committee members Hon. Stevie Ayua, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Allagh, Hon. Ato Agber; as well as ADC stalwarts and committee chairmen from other local governments.
The inauguration of local government and ward committees marked another milestone in the ADC’s expansion efforts across Benue state.
