Wanted Ireland fugitive found in KZN prison

JOHANNESBURG – Interpol South Africa has tracked down a wanted Ireland fugitive in a KwaZulu-Natal correctional centre.

Neville Van Der Westhuize is serving a 15-year-jail sentence for murder.

The fugitive is wanted in Ireland for a double murder case.

The 40-year-old South African born man and his Irish ex- girlfriend allegedly murdered two Irish nationals in 2014.

In another case, Interpol extradited a Botswana fugitive, and the team handed him over to Botswana authorities.

Authorities have commended the organisation’s efforts in tracking down wanted fugitives in the country.
